Formentera ProBikes
Terms of use for bicycle rental:
- Use and responsibility of the bicycle and additional equipment:
The renter agrees to return the bicycle and additional equipment in the same conditions in which they received them on the first day (except cleaning). The renter agrees to make good use of the rented equipment, taking the necessary measures for the proper functioning of the bicycle. The renter will be responsible for any imperfection, total or partial breakage, loss or theft of the bicycle or rented equipment. If the bicycle suffers a breakage, loss or theft, or is used improperly causing any damage (damage or partial scratches to the frame, fork and/or components), the price of the repair or replacement of the whole or parts will be charged to the credit card in accordance with the prices established by Spanish bicycle and component suppliers. The bicycle will be checked by both parties before the start of the rental period.
- Return of the bicycle:
The renter must return the bicycle on the established day, at the agreed time and place. If he does not do so, Formentera Pro Bike will charge him the full day of rental for each day of delay in returning the bicycle. If notified at least 2 days in advance and the bicycle is available for the requested days, the rental period may be extended in accordance with the prices established on the website. If the client wishes to end the rental before the agreed period once it has begun, he must pay 100% of the reservation and in no case will the amount be refunded. The latest possible time to return the bicycle on the day of return is 19:30, regardless of the closing time of the shop.
- Health and capacity of the renter:
The renter is in good health and is considered ready to use the bicycle.
- Renter's liability for theft and loss:
It is the renter's responsibility to take the necessary measures to prevent theft, loss or problems with the bicycle. In the event of theft or loss, the renter must pay the full value of the stolen or lost item (bicycle, helmet, etc.). If insurance is taken out, this does not include theft.
- Risks in using the bicycle:
The renter is aware of the risks that exist when riding a bicycle and assumes full responsibility for any damage that may be caused to themselves, third parties or other objects or properties resulting from incorrect driving or an occasional accident. In any case, the rental company is not responsible for any claim for accident, injury or any damage caused to themselves or third parties or properties, or for the loss of any object during the rental period due to any physical problem or accident that may occur.
- Use of the bicycle by an unauthorized person:
The use of the bicycle by a person other than the renter or authorized person will be under the exclusive responsibility of the renter, who will be responsible for any damage, loss or imperfection that the bicycle or any other rented material may suffer at any time. The renter is not allowed to add any components to the bicycle, nor to disassemble or manipulate it.
- Use in unsuitable areas:
It is prohibited to use the bicycle in areas or zones unsuitable for bicycles.
- Resolution of conflicts:
For the resolution of any conflict that may arise during this contract, the parties will be subject to the court of Ibiza (Balearic Islands).
- Insurance:
We offer bicycle insurance for €5 per day, which can be taken out when booking the bicycle or before the start of the rental period upon receipt of the bicycle. The insurance covers any total or partial damage to the bicycle with a deductible of €50. Theft or loss is not covered by the insurance. If you have travel insurance, you will receive an invoice to be able to claim, but the damage or deductible must be paid to the store when you return the bicycle.
- Requirements for picking up the bicycle:
To pick up the bicycle, you must bring a credit card (with full details: number and expiration date) and an ID card or passport.
Cancellation policy:
1. A 100% refund will be made if you notify us 48 hours in advance of the reservation time.
2. A 50% refund will be made if you notify us between 24 hours and 48 hours in advance of the reservation time.
3. If less than 24 hours notice is given, we may offer a postponement of the bike rental or service, but in no case will the amount be refunded.
4. "Force majeure" is understood to be any unforeseeable circumstance that makes you unable to show up to collect your bikes. If 48 hours notice is given, the amount will be refunded; if less, we will offer a postponement of the rental or service.
